PMU Needles

What needle cartridges are compatible with Microbeau machines?

Microbeau machines are compatible with most universal tattoo needle cartridges, but Vertix® cartridges for PMU are highly recommended.

How do I choose the right PMU needle size?

Needle selection depends on the procedure, skin type, and desired results. For more information, check out the Needle Mastery Course.

How can I read PMU needle size?

Needle size is listed in this format: Diameter/Configuration (e.g., 0.25mm/1RL). The diameter affects pigment saturation; the numeral refers to how many needles are in the grouping, and the configuration refers to the shape of the needle grouping.

What’s the difference between PMU needles and tattoo needles?

PMU needles are smaller, finer, and designed for more delicate work. Tattoo needles are typically larger and better suited for body art. PMU needles are designed to minimize trauma while maximizing precision.

What is the correct needle depth for PMU?

The optimal needle depth for PMU is generally 0.5mm to 1.5mm, depending on skin thickness and procedure. Depth control is essential to avoid going too shallow or too deep. Always adjust based on skin response.

What PMU cartridge is best for beginners?

For new artists, Vertix Nano 1RL and 3RL are ideal for brow work and eyeliner. These provide control, flexibility, and a gentle learning curve.

How do I choose the right needle for my PMU procedure?

Consider the area you’re treating, your technique, and desired density. For example, use a shader for ombré brows, a liner for hairstrokes, or a magnum for larger fill areas.

Are Vertix needles compatible with every PMU machine?

Vertix cartridges are compatible with all universal-style rotary machines that use a standard cartridge system.

PMU Machines

What is the best PMU machine?

The best machine for your artistry depends on a wide range of factors. For cordless convenience and power, go with the Bellar Air. For classic wired reliability, the Xion S shines. Check out our https://www.microbeau.com/pages/comparison for a detailed breakdown.

How do I maintain and clean my Microbeau machine?

Always use machine wraps and barrier film. Wipe down your machine with medical-grade disinfectant after each use.

What stroke is best for PMU?

A 2.1mm to 3.5mm stroke is optimal depending on the procedure. Shorter strokes offer more control for detail work, while longer strokes provide better saturation and coverage.

What’s the difference between PMU machines and tattoo machines?

PMU machines typically have shorter stroke lengths and finer tuning to accommodate facial skin. Tattoo machines are built for deeper penetration and larger surface areas.

How do I troubleshoot my PMU machine if it stops working?

Start with the basics: check your battery or power supply, cartridge fit, and any signs of damage. If you’re still having issues, contact our support team for guided troubleshooting or warranty service.

What voltage should I use for my PMU machine?

Always refer to your machine’s manual for voltage guidelines.
