What started off as Women’s History Day on the 8th of March has turned into a month of appreciation of women’s struggles and gains. As a company co-founded by a female permanent makeup artist, Lulu Siciliano, in a field dominated by women for services to mostly women, we strongly desire to give back.
If you’ve ever lived in Miami you may know Lotus House as the second-hand boutique shop with high-end furniture and clothing. The proceeds of their shop, however, go to the women and children supported by Lotus House Women’s Shelter social programs.
A little about Lotus House Women’s Shelter:
Physically vulnerable, homeless women and female youth are at heightened risk of sexual assault, human trafficking and violence in its many forms.
Over the past 15 years, Lotus House Women’s Shelter has helped thousands of women and children, most of whom are persons of color lacking meaningful access to safe, affordable housing, childcare, education, healthcare, economic opportunity and social and economic justice.
Lotus House is committed to advancing the status of women, providing sanctuary with deep, healing therapeutic support as well as enriched resources to reclaim lives marked by violence, poverty and discrimination.
All of this so they can blossom into who they are meant to be!
